If pros that pay for equipment have to compete with 'pros' who steal equipment, we are at a huge disadvantage. I would love to have a new FOH system given to me. I could work a little cheaper and make more money at the end of the year. Even at my small level, I spend between five and ten grand a year on equipment and maintenence . devide that up between 60-80 sr performances a year (not counting my muso gigs which to be fair , should carry some of the cost) it comes to a very significant percentage.

BTW does anyone happen to have a crack for MacFOH (BIG GRIN, Shaun) BTW I don't know if I have ever adequately expressed my appreciation to Shaun on this board .Quite a while ago, the stage my FOH was on was hit by a tornado, reducing most of what I owned to kindling (luckily at the time I was building a new FOH sytem ,it wasn't quite as tragic as it could have been).. Shaun only knew me from this board, but was very quick to offer assistence, including him making the offer to send some used equipment and worry about payment later. Thanks Shaun
So if I ever hear a post asking for bootleg MacFoh, I will feel honor bound
to............ (use your imagination)
Oh yeah , don't be like George (sic). He's another one who has assisted me tremendously with advice on and off the group, sourcing, supplying, as well as walking me through the install from hell. Once again, thanks George
>U dont think I enjoy what I do,been around the world, got laid without the Not a very smart 'proffesional' if what you do is alienate a great resource like this. Not just free advice, but networking that helps you source supplies you might otherwise pay retail for, quick notifications of what new equipment has major issues and what gear is a diamond in the rough, new techniques or ones that have been around you might never have heard of otherwise, etc When you post like you have been , this is what you have been rejecting. It's a hell of a lot more valuable than a $500 crack.
>I just know when not to tke myself too seriously, cause in this biz You could do worse than become like George in this business. He's may not be Bill Gates wealthy, but he is undoubtably higher in the food chain than you are.Let's see, if I remmember right of the top of my head George can offer to his clients, Meyer, powersoft, SLS, QSC, Powerlights, a nice mike collection and can tune it witht with MacFoh....... It's not to late to participate in this group as a member. Ask questions, don't get insulted, contribute when you know you are right, not just guessing. I've been a little short on contributing myself lately, just because subjects have been ones my expertise is more limited than many other members ..........
